Must Watch: Marcelito Pomoy Wows Ellen Degeneres Audience After Performing "The Prayer" and "Beauty and the Beast"
Former Pilipinas Got Talent winner Marcelito Pomoy made headlines on international media after he performed an outstanding rendition of the popular song "The Prayer" and "The Beauty and the Beast" showcasing his talents of having two voices in one person in one of the most popular TV Show in the United States, the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The grand winner of "Pilipinas Got Talent" joined the long list of Filipino singers who were given a chance to appear in the world-renowned "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.
On Tuesday, Marcelito Pomoy's guesting with Ellen DeGeneres made headlines on social media after it appeared on the popular American TV show and it was uploaded in the official YouTube account of The Ellen Show.
During the interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Marcelito Pomoy DeGeneres that he didn't expect that he will get the chance to be invited to appear on the show until he received the ticket for him to fly to US.
"Actually hindi ko po talaga ini-expect. Tapos one time may nag-message po sa akin sa Facebook ('yung) EllenTV.com. Hanggang dumating po 'yung nag-Skype kami, hindi pa rin ako naniniwala. Then dumating sa akin 'yung ticket going to Ellen," Pomoy said.
"Here you are because you are amazing," DeGeneres told Pomoy.
Asked when he discovered that he could sing both the male and female parts, Pomoy told DeGeneres: "Hindi ko rin alam sa sarili ko. Siguro ito na ang bigay ni God so ipinagpatuloy ko na lang."
Marcelito Pomoy also narrated during the interview that he left home when he was still a young boy.
"First time ko kasing lumayas seven years old, tapos nagtrabaho na ako (bilang) pin boy. Then, ang kita ko sa pin boy ay P50 in US dollars ay $1 'yun ang nag-survive sa akin na pangkain ko sa araw-araw at natulog na ako sa kalye," Pomoy revealed.
During the said interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Marcelito Pomoy performed his duet version of the song "The Prayer" as well as the duet version of "The Beauty and the Beast."
