Popular entertainer and singer Moira Dela Torre became the target of constant attacked by some Ilocanos as she was burned down on social media for her controversial Anti-Marcos tweet that went viral during the past few days.
Singer Moira Dela Torre got the attentions of some Ilocano netizens days after she performed at the Marcos Fest held in Ilocos Norte. The singer was hired by the organizers of the event to perform in the celebration of the 101st birth anniversary of the late Pres. Ferdinand E. Marcos.
Last September 15, Moira Dela Torre irked netizens after she posted on Twitter that she is not a Marcos apologetic and she will never be. She also claimed that she was not informed that she will be performing at Marcos Fest but rather in the Ilocano Millenial Night.
Moira Dela Torre posted the following tweets on her official social media account:
The tweet of Moira Dela Torre did not sit well among the Ilocanos who claimed that they treated the singer well during her visit and performance in Ilocos Norte despite some of her alleged unpleasant behavior.
Some Ilocanos argued that despite Moira's attitude towards them they do not deserved this kind of treatment from her by posting malicous statements against the hero of Ilocos, Pres. Marcos. They also noted taht posters were everywhere announcing that Moira will be performing in honor of Marcos, so it was impossible for her not to know that will be performing for Marcos Fest.
They also mentioned that she performed badly and was not in her best condition. She sang in a sickly voice and most of the songs were passed on to the audience to sing. The people of Ilocos love her songs, but unfortunately, they hate her attitude.
There were Ilocanos who accused Moira of performing just for the money thing, as they insists that Moira should know beforehand that she will be performing for the Marcos event. In the event that she's really not a Marcos supporter, she could've declined the event.
